Safety Precautions When Working With Electrical Equipment Course (SPWEE)
The purpose of the regulations is to require precautions to be taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity during work activities. This course is designed for members of staff who work with voltages in excess of 175V. It covers the duties imposed on employers and employees in respect of electrical equipment and when working on or near electrical equipment. At the end of the course, successful delegates will be able to safely carry out work and conduct testing on electrical equipment not exceeding 1000v in compliance within HSE guidelines and the Electricity at Work 1989.

Highfields Level 3 Award – The Signalling Installers Course (SIC)
Based in Ipswich (Suffolk), our training services have been fundamentally recognised as being pro-active, effective and, above all, technically competent. This program gives candidates the required competencies to become a railway Signalling Installer. The training is an intensive 6 week course, filled with all the safety, signalling, technical and electrical knowledge needed to pursue a career within the rail industry. By completing all of the modules listed below, this program is delivered in accordance with the IRSE (Institute of Rail Signal Engineers) licensing scheme conditions. As such, the program satisfies the knowledge requirements that enable delegates to apply for licensing after the appropriate experience criteria has been met. This program is mapped towards achieving IRSE category 1.2.220 and includes the competences required for registration with the Engineering council at the grade of EngTech. (The Engineering Council stipulates a minimum education requirement Equivalent to BTEC L3 or NVQ L3). Successful delegates will be awarded a Level 3 qualification in Rail Signalling Installation. The next available dates are: 20 May – 28 June 2024, 16 Sept – 25 Oct 2024, 10 Feb – 21 Mar 2025.

EBI 400 Track Circuit Course
Duration: 2 days To develop your understanding of the maintenance, faulting, repair and testing procedures that apply to the EBI Track 400 track circuit equipment on the open line and station area. Intermediate Signalling Technology (Control Table & Layout)
With this course it is a combined with IST Layout & Control Tables. Duration - 10 days First week - Control Table Second Week - Layout Intermediate Signalling Technology (Control Table) Designed for members of staff who are involved in the design of Signalling Systems. Terminal Objectives: At the end of the course successful delegates will have the underpinning knowledge of control tables on IST course that are required to match the IRSE Licensing requirements.
