UK Parliament security careers webinar, online 3 Nov 2026
Parliament’s security department recruits at entry, supervisor and management level, and is running an hour-long online briefing on 3 November with a live Q&A.
Parliament’s security department recruits at entry, supervisor and management level, and on Tuesday 3 November 2026 it is running an hour-long online briefing for anyone thinking about the work.
Members of the senior management team will set out how the Parliamentary Security Department is structured, what it is responsible for and how security is delivered across the estate day to day. A live question and answer session follows, so you can put your own questions to the people who run the operation.
What the department does
The Parliamentary Security Department is responsible for physical and personnel security across both Houses, working alongside the Metropolitan Police. The estate is public-facing and busy, and the security operation runs on a scale to match.
Where the openings are
Because the operation is a large one, recruitment comes round regularly and at three levels: entry, supervisor and management. Several of the senior management team came from the Armed Forces, so moving up from a first post is a route others have already taken.
Other Parliament roles
This briefing is about security, but Parliament also recruits in catering, IT and finance among other areas. Worth a look at the UK Parliament careers site while you are there.
Venue
