Electrical Courses Limited is very proud to have the opportunity to offer training courses for military leavers and ex-military servicemen and women. We are ELC registered and our Managing Director and lecturer Neil Phillips served in the army himself, which has given him the advantage of understanding what it is like to leave the military and step into the civilian life. Because of Neil’s past with the armed forces we can give you the best support for when going through such a big change in your life and achieving your goal of becoming a qualified Electrician on civi street.

Electrical Courses Ltd is a private training centre situated in Cambridgeshire specialising in delivering qualifications for anyone aspiring to become an Electrician and for already qualified Electricians looking to update or progress in their own skills and knowledge.

We offer beginners courses such as 2365 Level 2 and 3 courses and more advanced level courses such as 2391-52 Inspection and Testing course, 2921 EV Charging course and 2382 18th Edition course. We also offer 2357 Level 3 NVQ and 2346 Experienced worker NVQ.

Electrical Courses Ltd was founded by our Managing Director Neil Phillips in 2013. Neil started the business as he enjoyed being a teacher and saw a gap in the industry for adult learners in Cambridge area. We specialise in delivering qualifications for anyone aspiring to become an Electrician and for already qualified Electricians looking to update or progress in their own skills and knowledge. We also offer the AM2/AM2S and AM2E assessments as well as a Preparation Day.

Which courses to study to become a qualified Electrician?

In order for you to become a qualified electrician you have to study and take part in the three main courses which are Level 2 in Electrical Installations (2365), Level 3 in Electrical Installations (2365) and NVQ in Electrotechnical Systems (2357). Level 2 and Level 3 courses are taught in our centre near Cambridge and the NVQ portfolio is for electrical improvers who are in their final stages of becoming a qualified Electrician.

The studying environment you are in is supportive, friendly and professional. The classes are taught in classrooms and in a workshop where all students will have their own dedicated wall to work on. This way they can fully concentrate on their work with the tools assigned to them.

The duration of Level 2 course is 8 weeks (Monday-Friday) and starting dates are either in September or in March.

Level 3 courses duration is also 8 weeks (Monday-Friday) and starts shortly after the Level 2 course finishes.

What does Kelvin Billings, Ex Royal Marine say about us?

I decided to study to be an Electrician as I wanted to work offshore on Wind Turbines in the renewables sector. I chose to do the course at Electrical Courses because I did not want to spend 2 to 3 years to train at a college due to having to pay the mortgage and bills. I first heard about Electrical Courses Limited through my friend Robbie who highly recommended Electrical Courses Ltd and I enrolled on to the next available course.

During the course I felt that the teaching was run perfectly between theory and practical. Being more of a practical person than academic I felt that Neil got the balance right. I didn’t have any problems understanding subjects as the lecturer gave lots of examples and explained things in practical terms.

I am now working offshore as a Wind Turbine Service & Trouble-shooter technician, progressing my Electrical skills and enjoying life as a civilian.
