How is the course delivered?
This course is designed, primarily, according to principles of asynchronous learning. There are no live, scheduled group sessions, meaning that students can start the programme at any time rather than wait for the next course start date.
The taught input elements consist of short videos that can be watched in your own time.
Once you enrol on the programme then you commit to undertaking the course components according to a pre-determined schedule, starting from the moment you sign up.
The programme takes about six months. Homework assignments have due dates, and it is important to keep up the pace to ensure a smooth progression on the learning journey.
Human Contact
You will have constant contact with course faculty. This begins with an initial 1:1 tutorial over Teams or Zoom in which we discuss your objectives.
Throughout the programme, we interact with you via the learning platform, responding to your 10 x reflective journal entries. We also give you feedback on two recordings.
Following this we meet at a midpoint to discuss the outcomes of the recorded session exercise, and we also come together at the end for a final 1:1 tutorial.

"I found the course to be very insightful. Looking back, the whole program almost feels like a coaching session where Tom acted as a guide to reach our goal!"
Paul Park, NorthStandard
"I struggle to see how any manager who is serious about employing coaching skills as a core part of the role could do better than take this programme."
Simon Main, NorthStandard
"A really good course that has helped immensely in opening my eyes to the power of coaching. Tom's relaxed style is engaging and thought provoking delivering a training program that gets results."
Wilf How, NorthStandard
"Without a doubt, this has been the most impactful training I have ever undergone. Tom's ability to simplify complex concepts and bring them to life through engaging modules, exercises, and quizzes is truly remarkable. The hands-on experience of coaching actual clients was invaluable, and Tom and Lisa's supportive feedback helped us all identify our strengths and weaknesses. Armed with this newfound awareness, we are now empowered to cultivate a coaching culture within our company."
Fabien Lerede, NorthStandard
"Tom has run an extremely impressive course. In short order, he's pulled together a diverse group, rewired our management skills and helped us to see how almost all company and wider interactions can benefit from a coaching mentality. We have all been properly challenged and, in doing so, we've come away understanding the true meaning of concepts such as empowerment, not as a glib phrase, but in enabling colleagues to take responsibility for themselves, helping individuals to fulfil their potential."
Jamie Wallace, NorthStandard
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and greatly value the new coaching skills I have developed, which for me will feature not only in the workplace but in life generally."
Winnie Mah, NorthStandard
"I really enjoyed the course and found it to be very thought provoking. It has helped me to re-evaluate how I interact with the people I manage and has encouraged me to use my coaching skills at every opportunity. I would highly recommend the course to all of my colleagues."
Ursula O’Donnell, NorthStandard
"Holy Moly! Wow! The buzz you get from a successful coaching experience is amazing. Reading the book is enlightening but being able to practice coaching techniques in a safe environment is amazing. For this course not to change your approach on management and improve your style, would be a tall order and you would need to be going out of your way not to receive any benefits from it. I found that after module 2 I was implementing techniques within my day to day management and getting positive results. I would recommend any person who has to manage people to get on this."
Michael Easom, NorthStandard
"The structure, content and delivery of the programme was exceptional. The balance between theory and practice was perfectly calibrated to create a very engaging and enriching course. The learning platform was very user friendly and intuitive, enabling tasks to be completed efficiently. Tom's coaching program engendered an incredible sense of positivity amongst us and hope for the future of our organisation and ourselves. I have learned a powerful new skill that will reshape my interactions and hopefully improve outcomes for others."
Nick Rowe, NorthStandard
"Tom designed and delivered a world class Manager As coach programme for our company. We carried out an extensive procurement process, but were instantly impressed by Tom's expertise and the way in which his proposal dialled into our values and what we wanted to achieve. As a result, we entered the programme with high expectations, but even these were exceeded! Tom's patient and calm delivery, combined with his deep expertise, made this course extremely effective. Many of our managers have subsequently referred to the programme as a 'game changer' and a buzz about coaching is fizzing around our company now! Thank you, Tom and team!"
