Bywater Training has been training auditors and management systems professionals since 1982, and is an ELCAS-approved provider of 15 courses, so Service personnel and leavers can put their Enhanced Learning Credits towards recognised qualifications in quality, environmental, health and safety and information security auditing.

Auditing rewards the habits Service builds: working to a standard, checking evidence rather than taking things on trust, writing clear reports and holding people to account calmly. Every organisation that holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 27001 certification needs people who can audit against those standards, so the skills travel across sectors, from manufacturing and construction to defence and its supply chain.

The ELCAS-approved courses listed below cover the full auditor ladder. Five-day lead auditor courses in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF 16949 are CQI and IRCA certified, the recognised route to registration as a lead auditor. Three-day auditor conversion courses let an existing auditor add a further standard, and shorter internal auditor and introductory courses give a starting point. Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt courses, certified by the Royal Statistical Society, cover process improvement.

Courses run as live virtual classrooms or at venues across the UK, including London, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast, and can also be delivered in-company. Bywater runs close to a thousand public and dedicated courses a year and has trained more than 200,000 people.

Bywater is ELCAS provider number 11235. ELC can fund up to 80% of the course fee for eligible Service personnel and leavers. For the lead auditor, auditor conversion and ISO 9001 internal auditor courses, ELCAS claims should be submitted at least six weeks before the course starts.

Bywater is a CQI and IRCA Approved Training Partner, an IOSH approved training provider, an ISEP approved training centre and a QuEST Forum approved training centre, and holds Cyber Essentials certification. The company has been privately owned since a management buyout in 2008.
