Severn Trent launches Armed Forces placement opportunities with Morson Edge
Service leavers looking to gain valuable civilian experience before leaving the Armed Forces are being offered a new route into the utilities sector through a series of placement opportunities with Severn Trent.
Working in partnership with Morson Edge, Severn Trent is offering Armed Forces Placement Schemes that provide practical experience supporting critical water infrastructure across Ministry of Defence sites and commercial environments.
Placements are available across a wide geographical area, including North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cumbria, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Greater London, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Rutland. There is also a Network Analyst placement based in Coventry for those interested in operational planning, business operations and data analysis.
Participants will gain hands-on experience working on critical national infrastructure while receiving mentoring from experienced teams and Severn Trent's Armed Forces Network. The placements also include CV support, interview coaching and career transition guidance, helping service personnel understand how the skills developed during military service translate into civilian employment.
The opportunities are aimed at serving personnel who are eligible to use their resettlement leave and allowances as part of their transition from military to civilian life.
In addition to the placement programme, Severn Trent is recruiting permanent Repair & Maintenance Operatives. The roles offer competitive salaries, comprehensive training, attractive benefits and clear opportunities for long-term career progression. They are particularly well suited to individuals with experience in engineering, operations, logistics, mechanical or electrical trades, or other technical military disciplines.
