Event Overview
Those seeking a new career in defence and security are invited to register for Pathways into Defence and Security (PIDS), taking place in October 2025. This event is part of the Forces Employment Charity’s (FEC) series of sector-specific initiatives designed to support the Armed Forces community.
Date: Wednesday, 22 October 2025
Time: 10.00 am – 3.30 pm
Location: Central London (Full venue details will be emailed to registered delegates two weeks prior to the event. Nearest stations: Kings Cross, Euston, Euston Square, or Russell Square.)
About the Event
PIDS will provide veterans, service leavers, reservists, and military families with a comprehensive introduction to careers in defence and security. Attendees will meet representatives from over 16 employers currently recruiting and learn more about the sector’s opportunities.
The event will include:
- A networking marketplace
- Panel discussions featuring military pathway leads and hiring managers
- Spotlight sessions covering:
- International career opportunities
- Transferable skills and broader employability
- Technology, cyber, AI, and digital innovation

The event is being held in collaboration with MBDA (Gold sponsor) and Make UK. Up to 16 employers will be present throughout the day, many of whom are veterans themselves. These employers will also participate in discussion panels and be available for one-to-one networking in the marketplace. Delegates will also have the chance to connect with FEC mentors with specialist knowledge in the field.

Panel sessions will be recorded and made available through the FEC’s library archive after the event.
About the Employment Pathways Programme
The Forces Employment Charity delivers these sector events as part of Op ASCEND – an Office for Veterans’ Affairs programme awarded to them through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The programme is designed to ensure veterans and their families have equal access to employment opportunities.
