Every year, the LMN host a number of insight days aimed at helping serving/ex-military/reservists who are considering a career in insurance.
Event overview
The Lloyd's Military Network was established in October 2014 to support the transition of Service Leavers into the insurance industry. We are a cross-industry network with over 500 members, supported by a number of firms across the London Market and beyond.
Event content
Every year, the LMN host a number of insight days aimed at helping serving/ex-military/reservists who are considering a career in insurance. The aim is to inform attendees of what insurance is, where some of the opportunities lie and explain the placement scheme. Speakers are a combination of veterans who have successfully transitioned into the industry, and senior individuals from across the market who support what we do.
The session will cover the following topics:

IT and Cyber
Risk Management
Financial Crime
Operations
Q&A Panel
After the session there will be the opportunity to have an informal chat with the speakers and other members of the network over a drink.
Why take this event?
LMN's aims are three-fold:
Transition. support service leavers in transitioning into insurance:
Raising awareness of the industry with service leavers.
Running a placement scheme to assist service leavers in finding roles in the industry and de-risking the transition.
Identifying opportunities that may be suitable for service leavers, as well as network members looking to move within the industry.
Advocating the values of veterans to prospective employers.
Networking. Providing a forum for the veterans and serving reservists operating within the Insurance industry to meet and share ideas.
Charitable. We are closely aligned to two charitable organisations, the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund and the Royal British Legion, and work closely together to achieve common charitable aims.
