Serving personnel, Service leavers and veterans are invited to explore career opportunities in the UK energy sector at an event in Edinburgh this September.

Serving personnel, Service leavers, veterans and members of the wider Armed Forces community are invited to explore career opportunities within the UK energy sector at a special event in Edinburgh this September.

The Energy Event will bring together veteran speakers and representatives from leading organisations, including EDF, ScottishPower, Balfour Beatty, ENODA and SSE.

What attendees will hear

Attendees will hear about opportunities across renewables, energy transmission, oil and gas, infrastructure and emerging technologies. Speakers will also explain how military skills and experience can transfer successfully into a rapidly evolving industry.

The event will provide insights into current and future career opportunities, the innovations shaping the UK's energy future and the experiences of veterans who have already made the transition. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with employers and gain practical advice about entering the sector.

The event is open to those currently serving, approaching transition or considering their next career move.

The Energy Event takes place on Thursday 17 September 2026, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, at The Royal Scots Club, 29-31 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh EH3 6QE.
