Horologist

Ramco UK Limited has been helping organisations sell their surplus assets since 1996. We work with the Ministry of Defence in the sale and marketing of equipment they no longer need and they trust us to help them maximise the value. As a result of a recent declaration, we are looking for a horologist who can assist in diagnosing faults, conducting repairs and restore ex-military watches. We would ideally be looking to find someone who had an existing small workshop set-up including tooling.
Job Summary
You will be required to inspect and repair ex-military watches in the main being CWC and Pulsar manufactured. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, conducting precision repairs, restoring timepieces and ensuring that all work meets quality standards. The role requires a level of technical knowledge and attention to detail.
Skills and knowledge

Day-to-day tasks
- Take apart and inspect timepieces to identify faults
- Clean and oil mechanisms
- Fit new watch straps and batteries
- Fit new parts which could include mechanisms and faces
Financials
This will be a trial to ascertain whether the restoration process adds value to the watches when it comes to resale typically via online auction. For the purpose of the trial a suitable agreement needs to be reached on an hourly rate or a costs per unit basis. Parts can be provided where commercially viable.
