Natural Gas Service Training (NGST) and the Skills Training Agency (STA) have been delivering high-quality gas training and assessments to the service and installation industry for over 17 years. In addition to specialist gas assessments and training, we also provide training and assessment packages for Oil, Electrics, Water and Energy Efficiency.

NGST aims to give training and assessment to individuals who are experienced, and those who are new to the industry. We take our time in delivering quality training in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

  • NGST employs training and assessment staff recruited from British Gas and HM Armed Forces all with a wealth of experience and knowledge
  • We run Domestic, Commercial ACS gas courses and LPG courses on a weekly basis as well as running a variety of one day courses which include, Unvented Domestic Hot Water, Energy Efficiency, Water Regulations and Combustion Performance Analyser
  • We also offer courses in Part P Electrics and Oftec Oil
  • We are fully approved by OFTEC and previously awarded the OFTEC centre of excellence award 

Our Initial Gas Qualification (IGQ) course is aimed at service leavers with limited or no experience within the gas industry

Subject to successful completion of the course, you will have industry recognised qualifications, employment references and will be eligible to become a Gas Safe registered engineer. Please note that resettlement training and assessment for the armed forces is only available at NGST Newcastle

Part ‘P’ Electrical Qualification
This electrical training course is perfect for those wishing to undertake domestic electrical installation work and demonstrate that it complies with Part P of the building regulations. Anyone who wants to carry out electrical work in flats or houses must be competent to do this and have a good understanding and knowledge of the current Part P building regulations
