Take your next step with New College Durham

New College Durham prides itself on excellence in education, delivering a diverse and dynamic curriculum in an inspirational environment. With more than 90 years’ experience, it’s rated in the top 10% of colleges in the UK for achievement in Further Education and apprenticeships; whilst our Higher Education students rate it in the top 10% for student satisfaction and has achieved silver standard in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

All of its qualifications are validated by official awarding bodies and face the same rigorous checks and audits as all universities.

Many programmes are available on full or part-time bases, with flexible options to fit around work or family commitments.

As well as getting a great qualification, there are a number of additional benefits to studying there.

Studying locally can mean less student debt, more affordable education and better value for money.

Learning is delivered in informal classroom settings, creating a more productive environment and allowing greater collaboration between students.

Great teaching and learning facilities make the college a fantastic place to study

The college has all of the resources needed to support learning, including a well-stocked academic library and an e-Learning Centre with more than 250 computers. These sit alongside experience-enhancing amenities, such as a students’ union, gym, Costa, Starbucks and free on-site parking.

To give students the best chance of achieving their potential, the college has an impressive network of student support services.

Academic support tutors are available to help improve research, writing and presentation skills. Its effective employer engagement programme ensures that graduates leave with a range of employability skills, so it’s no surprise that 94% of New College graduates progress to employment or further study.
