  • Higher Education remains an important part of our provision. On average over 600 students (50:50 full time and part time) study degree level courses at The College
  • We are proud to be a community college and are closely embedded into the activities of the region and local communities. Over 2,300 of our students took part in volunteering activities last year
  • Our BASE team provides in-house access to work skills training and exclusive jobs that aren’t advertised elsewhere

These 2-year part-time courses are developed in full consultation with all the relevant professional bodies, and will give you a solid grounding in activities associated with the construction industry. The courses are designed to provide a range of vocational skills, both broad-based and qualification-specific. The courses will be delivered mainly through formal lectures, supported by a system of tutorials, workshops, laboratory sessions, visits and field exercises.

Counselling
With a range of Counselling courses available to study at our college, our counselling courses are run in conjunction with the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body. Through studying Level 3 to 5 you’ll open up your future prospects to working as a counsellor or going onto a foundation degree.

Health and Safety
The NEBOSH (National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health) is an examined basic qualifications for people who are responsible for health and safety at work. The Level 3 General Certificate will teach you the skills and knowledge to identify and control hazards as well as Health and Safety Management.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualifications in Human Resource Practice/Management give you a professional HR qualification that will enhance your industry knowledge and enable you to embrace new career opportunities.
