Able Skills have been providing construction training since 2002, We are the largest private Construction Training Centre in the UK. We aim to make construction training accessible and inclusive to all, which is why many of our courses can be undertaken on a flexible/part-time basis, enabling you to fit your learning around prior commitments.
Able Skills is approved to deliver Level 3 construction training through the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) Centre Number: 11635
The ELCAS scheme provides credits over a maximum of three financial years for individuals to undertake a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above with an approved learning provider.

- 2346-03 - Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (NVQ)
- 2357-44 - Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) APL
- 2357-91 - Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) (unit route)
- 2365-03 - City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures)
- 2377-77 - Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
- 2382-22 - Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018
- 2391-52 - Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
- 2396-01 - Level 4 Design, construction management and initial verification of electrical installations
Individuals on the ELCAS scheme can also use credits to complete training courses that have been accredited by AIM. These courses are:
- Level 3 certificate in Building, Installation and property maintenance skills
- Level 3 Certificate in Bathroom Installation skills

Inspection and Testing Course City and Guilds 2391-52 combines all of the elements of Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing. This City & Guilds qualification is aimed at experienced electricians who require some update of training. This is an advanced qualification, and this course is entirely theory based until you undertake a practical assessment which is a mandatory part of this award. It is expected that suitable candidates have a good knowledge and understanding of electrical science and principles and experience of electrical installation work. We do not recommend that you undertake this course unless you already know the fundamentals of inspection and testing. Although there are no formal pre-requisites, we advise that you have a good understanding of the latest IET BS7671 Wiring Regulations and have passed the City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition) course and have a minimum of 6 months testing experience. |
