NEWS ALERT LEADING VETERANS CHARITY ANNOUNCES LIVE STREAMING OF THEIR FLAGSHIP EMPLOYMENT SYMPOSIUM

NEWS

11 Dec, 2017

On Tuesday 12th December, the Officers’ Association (OA), trusted experts in the transitioning space, will be holding a national employment Symposium, a flagship conference designed to assist Service leavers with their transition into civilian employment.

As places for the event were sold out in record time, the OA will be live streaming key parts of the Symposium on Facebook and Twitter, to ensure that as many Service leavers as possible across the country can benefit.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Ben Keene, Director at Escape the City – a leading global career change consultancy, specialising in helping people change job and finding a career they love. The speech aims to motivate Service leavers to think outside the box when it comes to finding their second career. The OA will also bring together key employers and veterans now in new careers, who will share their expertise and personal experiences. Employers include some of the country’s largest recruiters of veterans including the NHS, Network Rail and the Bank of England, who will provide guidance on the criteria they have for hiring and top tips for successfully entering employment.

Chris Recchia, Partner for Risk Advisory and lead for Deloitte’s own Military Transition Programme will be joined by Liz Stevens, to highlight the Veterans Work films – three unique films that showcase the value of hiring veterans. Lee Holloway, Chief Executive Officer of the OA, will be contributing to the closing remarks, and can speak from previous experience as a Service leaver.
