University of Derby Online Learning (UDOL) is running a free MOOC course entitled Digital.Me: Managing your digital self.

Harness the power of your digital footprint
The course aims to build relevant skills and knowledge around understanding the quality of your digital footprint, harvesting the ‘power of the web’ to your advantage, and increasing your ability to use technology to improve your professional and personal life.

In today’s digital world, it is increasingly important to manage your digital identity. There are growing numbers of tools and technologies available that can be used to maintain a suitable digital reputation, to ensure personal details remain safe and secure, to access new learnings or to develop new contacts and network with others with similar interests

The course starts from June 2017, building over six modules in six weeks (two hours study recommended per week). After each module you gain a digital badge for your CV and an e-certificate of completion is awarded once the course is completed. By completing the course you can expect to develop skills in:

  • fostering a positive digital reputation across the web
  • managing your life and engaging with online communities effectively
  • understanding the positive effects and managing the technology around you
  • collaborative living and working by embracing technology
  • new approaches to learning and new meanings of the classroom in a digital era.

If you are looking to create a positive digital reputation and harness the opportunities that the web and other technologies present, then this is the course for you.
UDOL is the thriving distance learning division of the University of Derby UK. It offers a broad range of online courses, including undergraduate and postgraduate studies, free courses and CPD opportunities – all with the flexibility of studying at times to suit you.
