BFBS announces new radio show for Forces kids
BFBS, in partnership with TBI Media, has received a share of £200,000 from the Audio Content Fund to create a weekly show, The Little Troopers Radio Show, for Forces kids.
Targeted at the 75,000 British children with parents in the Armed Forces, this 30-minute programme will be broadcast on BFBS Radio on Sunday lunchtimes from January 2020 for 13 weeks, across 10 community licences in the UK and overseas. The show will feature inspiring guests, recorded features and live discussion. It will be presented by three new voices from BFBS, the Little Troopers charity and children’s media.
Says Dave Young, director of programmes at TBI Media: ’Being a “Forces kid” involves living truly extraordinary experiences and at a deeply formative time too – it will be full of adventure and opportunity, but present many deep and fundamental challenges at the same time. We at TBI are delighted to be able to bring The Little Troopers Radio Show to the historic and remarkably far-reaching BFBS network, to talk about that life and provide inspiration for all involved in it.’
