Animal Welfare Supervisor (Veterinary)

The Animal Welfare Supervisor (Veterinary) will be part of the management team of the Centre comprising of three Supervisors (Operational, Rehoming & Veterinary). The team are responsible for overseeing employees and volunteers and for supporting the Rehoming Centre Manager in the day to day smooth running of the Centre.

The Animal Welfare Supervisor (Veterinary) will support the visiting Centre Veterinary Surgeon and oversee the day to day veterinary care of the animals on site. This will include dispensing medication, ensuring correct procedures are followed and keeping accurate records. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and a full manual driving licence is also essential

The successful candidate will have a positive and friendly manner, be a natural leader, confident and able to work on their own as well as working as part of a close knit team. A Veterinary Nurse qualification or training is desirable, though not essential if you have experience of working with animals in a welfare or similar environment. Applicants will have experience of record keeping and general administration and possess good IT skills.Providing exceptional customer service is also a key requirement of this role.

The successful candidate will be able to manage changeable workloads and have an ability to prioritise your own duties as well as meeting the needs of the team, animals and customers in a professional, polite and patient manner.

This is a full time role of 42 hours per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays on a shared rota. Due to the nature of the work, staying on site to provide overnight cover is required on a rota basis, to care for young and or sick animals.
