Take to the road with motorcycle training

If you are due to leave the Forces, you may be deliberating on what career path to take. It is often a daunting prospect after leaving such a structured environment. One opportunity open to you is to become a motorcycle instructor. RMT Motorcycle Training has been established for 15 years and was set up by an ex-Army instructor who faced the same decisions as you.

RMT Motorcycle Training offers comprehensive courses to allow instructors to teach Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) to learner riders, to train and assess other instructors (train a trainer), and to train students to ride larger motorcycles on the Direct Access Scheme. Successful candidates will have the qualifications to offer motorcycle training at all levels and be able set up their own Approved Training Body (motorcycle training school) or becoming a key member of an existing organisation.

If instructor training is not for you, you could use your resettlement package to receive tuition to pass your motorcycle test. We have a team of dedicated instructors who have a military background who can easily guide you through your training, whatever level you decide is right for you.
For hard-working and dedicated individuals there are huge gaps in the marketplace for the right business to thrive and to take a large share of the growth within the motorcycle training industry. As military personnel have many skills and are disciplined, these aptitudes – along with exemplary motorcycle training – will make you stand out from the crowd.

RMT Motorcycle Training is one of only a few companies in this country offering this level of instructor training to the military. We are ideally situated being in the heart of the country, in the West Midlands.

To find out more about our ELC registration, and our motorcycle and instructor training, call 01527 500333 or see our website at www.rmtnet.co.uk.

A new advanced level driving qualification

Many Service leavers are taking up a career in professional driving. If you are thinking of doing so or you are applying for any job that includes driving, as they nearly all do, read on!

Recent legislation now requires all UK employers to ensure that any employee who drives as part of their work activity is assessed and trained to ensure that they are a safe driver. This is obviously a substantial cost to the company, so it is of great benefit to recruit staff members who are proven safe drivers and, ideally, already trained.

Driver Skills Limited offers an ELCAS-funded course in advanced driving to BTEC level 3. This course has already helped many job applicants secure the position they want. It takes two and a half days in total, including the test, and is available in any area of the UK mainland.

Our instructors are friendly, professional and of the highest standard to ensure you receive the best quality of training available. We have a unique easy booking service, which means we handle all the paperwork so you don’t have to. We also pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service to ensure all queries are dealt with on the same day, to save you time.

About to leave the Armed Forces and looking for a way to make a living in the outside world?

There are many ways you can earn a living out there, but very few professions will give you the earning potential, great working conditions, job satisfaction and flexibility that you will get from teaching people to drive.

However, you will need to be very careful when you are looking for training of any kind – there are a lot of sharks out there, just looking to get their teeth into your training budget. To do this, they will promise you the world and the truth is they will almost always under-deliver.

You will often see claims that, as a driving instructor, you will earn around £600–£700 per week and, although this isn’t a lie, it certainly is misleading.

You certainly can earn that amount of money, and most good instructors do on a regular basis, but you need to think about the running costs of your business before you add up your profits: things like your training vehicle, fuel costs, franchise payments, etc.

For a full breakdown of this go to www.ditauk.com, where you can download your free information pack for full details of this and much more.

As a driving instructor, working just 35 hours, you will earn over £400 per week after tax, plus get a brand new car every year. And all this doing something you will love!

At DITA we will guarantee you a position with a driving school in your local area, so give us a call today on 0788 648 9413 or 01268 478606, what do you have to lose?

Your route to a new career

CIA Driver Training Limited has been in business since 1990, operating a driving school for franchised Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs). During this time, CIA also became involved in training people to become instructors. In 1996, it became a member of ORDIT (the Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers). It has been involved in training Service leavers for many years and, in 2004, became an ELCASapproved training centre and a preferred supplier to the CTP. Since then, many Service leavers have successfully qualified to become ADIs, settling in various parts of the country, including Northern Ireland, many starting up in business on their own.
The training consists of three modules:
  1. part one – theory and hazard perception, which is done as home study
  2. part two – a test of your driving ability
  3. part three – a test of instructional ability.
All the training is flexible and can be structured around the needs of the Service leaver. You must have a clean driving licence that you have held for at least four years.
Being an ADI is not easy – it means mixing with all sorts of people from all walks of life. You will need good people skills and a lot of patience and understanding.
The main benefits are:
  • being your own boss
  • choosing the hours you work
  • a high level of job satisfaction
  • improving road safety.
If you think this is the new career for you, then contact CIA Driver Training Limited on 0800 70 7000 for more information. www.ciadriving.com
