Job Description:
Vacancy for a Squadron Leader Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) within International Defence Training (RAF) (IDT(RAF)) team based at RAF Halton, near Aylesbury, Bucks.
The commitment for this post, including a six-month probationary period, will be for 4 years. The appointment requires extensive contact with Foreign Embassies and High Commissions and will require travel within the UK to MoD departments and various military and civilian training providers and occasional overseas travel.
This is an excellent opportunity for an officer with a broad service background, effective intelligence, good analytical skills and possessing high levels of judgement and reliability to be involved in interesting and rewarding work with the United Kingdom’s friends and allies around the world. The appointment is challenging, as all engagements with other countries are unique and need to be dealt with according to the merits of each particular case. Applicants should have a sound understanding of RAF training systems, especially the flying training system, and preferably with aircrew experience although the appointment does not warrant flying pay. There are line managerial responsibilities for one FTRS flt lt and 6 civil servants.
