Specialist Storage department is looking to expand its skills to offer pre- and post-sales technical services to customers.

We are looking for a technically skilled, people- and business-minded Lead Consultant to assist our client in specifying and delivering complex Hewlett-Packard Storage Solutions to
customers’ business needs.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience of designing and deploying storage solutions – HP essential, other technologies desirable

Have an understanding of and experience in Microsoft technologies – Windows, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint

Have the following HP accreditations: Master Accredited Systems Engineer – Storage

And the following Microsoft accreditations: MCSE

Ideally, to be a VMware Certified Professional

Be customer-friendly and commercially aware

Be able to understand customers’ needs and produce technical solutions to reflect these

Be able to map technologies to business needs

Have experience of leading projects and managing small teams

The job will entail: Taking customers from a conceptual stage of solution design to a detailed specific solution

Detailed pre-sales work to specify technical solutions to our customers’ business requirements, supporting our small team of specialist Storage sales people

Implementation of Storage Solutions, individually, as part of a growing team of Softcat consultants and in partnership with vendors and distributors as required

Assisting in the management of partners whom we may engage to deliver these solutions

Developing our existing pre-sales resources with a view to them assisting in the delivery of these projects

Assisting Reseller X, in spotting emerging opportunities and technologies in the Storage field

Based in Marlow but with nationwide travel (predominantly south-east
